Nationwide travel role with potential job sites in Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee.
Job Summary
As a Test Engineer with FlexTrades, you’ll serve as the final escalation point for hardware, software, and system issues that Debug Techs, Test Techs, and Production teams are unable to resolve. Your expertise will guide root cause investigations, technical documentation updates, and the implementation of corrective actions across mission-critical server and computing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair complex computer/server rack failures beyond the capabilities of other personnel
- Perform in-depth root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Update all documentation (assembly, test processes, wiring diagrams) based on findings
- Assist and mentor Debug Techs, Test Techs, and lower-level Test Engineers
- Guide others in problem-solving using structured engineering methodologies (CAPA, 5 Whys, Pareto, etc.)
- Technical Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field (required)
- Expert-level proficiency in Linux OS and Linux-based commands
- Advanced knowledge of Python scripting in a Linux environment
- Strong understanding of computer hardware, firmware, and related troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring, and cabling diagrams
- Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and quality assurance techniques
- Knowledge of engineering root cause tools: CAPA, Fishbone, Fault Tree, Pareto, and more

- Excellent communicator with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable documentation
- Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision
Compensation & Benefits
- $80/hour + guaranteed overtime (paid at time and a half)

- Daily per diem of $45
- Flexibility to take time off between assignments
- Travel-based assignments ranging from 3 to 12 months
