Manual Machinist
FlexTrades is seeking experienced Manual Machinists for exciting contract opportunities across the United States, with current placement potential in New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. This is a unique chance to work on challenging projects with guaranteed overtime, excellent pay, and benefits, all while exploring new locations.
As a Manual Machinist, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your skills working with advanced equipment like Bridgeport Mills, Monarch Engine Lathes, and more. You’ll work with materials such as stainless steel and Inconel to deliver precision machining that meets exacting standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate and set up equipment including Bridgeport Mills, Monarch Engine Lathes, Manual Engine Lathes, Manual HBM, and Hardinge Chucking Lathes.
- Perform tasks such as boring, turning, grooving, threading, face milling, profile milling, side milling, drilling, boring, and tapping.
- Deliver precision machining with a photographic finish, focusing on flange base serrations.
- Work primarily with stainless steel and Inconel materials.
- Clamp, indicate, perform machining per instructions, and unload parts efficiently and safely.
- Interpret and work from standard prints, including GD&T requirements.
- Consistently achieve high-quality results with minimal supervision.
Pay & Benefits
- Pay: $38/hour
- Guaranteed Overtime: Paid at time-and-a-half
- Employment Type: W2 contractor assignments

- Per diem of $45/day (7 days per week)
- Flexibility to take time off between assignments
- Work second or third shifts, including overtime (50+ hours/week)
- Assignments range from 3 months to 1 year
Job Requirements
- Expertise with Bridgeport Mills, Monarch Engine Lathes, Manual Engine Lathes, Manual HBM, and Hardinge Chucking Lathes.
- Proficiency in machining tasks such as boring, threading, grooving, milling, and tapping.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to work with stainless steel and Inconel materials.
- Willingness to travel and commit to the duration of assignments.
- Self-motivated and able to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
