
I&E Technician
FlexTrades is hiring experienced I&E Technicians for nationwide contract work, with current needs in Kansas, Missouri, and Colorado. If you have hands-on experience with industrial instrumentation, calibration, and electrical troubleshooting in an FDA/GMP-regulated environment, we want to hear from you.
Job Responsibilities
- Test and calibrate instrumentation on production equipment
- Work with sensors (humidity, temperature, weight, pressure, flow, etc.) and advanced devices like thermal imaging and cameras
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment like Tetra Pak systems, separators, homogenizers, and mixers
- Replace faulty instrumentation components as needed
- Perform electrical repair work alongside full-time maintenance technicians
- Work with pick-and-place robots (Fanuc preferred)
- Use and troubleshoot Allen Bradley and Siemens instrumentation
- Reference manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams for support
Systems & Tools You’ll Use
- CMMS (SAP) for some work orders and documentation
- MES platforms: Ignition and Wonderware
- PLCs (Allen Bradley) for troubleshooting only—no edits or programming
- Exposure to 480V 3-phase, AC and DC systems
- Work with single-phase and 3-phase motors
Required Experience
- Experience working in an FDA/GMP-regulated facility
- Strong understanding of calibrating and maintaining industrial instrumentation
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and use schematics
- Comfortable working independently and responding to verbal work orders
- Willingness to support calibration tasks even if primarily assigned to FTEs
- Nice to have: experience in dairy or pasteurization facilities
Pay & Benefits
- Pay: $45/hour
- Guaranteed overtime each week (50+ hours), paid at time and a half
- Access to full suite of benefits
- All travel expenses paid, including single-occupancy lodging
- Daily per diem: $45
- Flexibility to take time off between assignments
- Contract length: 3 months to 1 year
Work Schedule & Travel
- Must be able to travel and commit to full assignment durations
- Ability to work 2nd and 3rd shifts, including overtime
- Must pass a drug test prior to assignment
