Grinder Machinist

Location: Nationwide with potential assignments in Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $45/hour (Guaranteed Overtime Each Week)

Are you an experienced Grinder Machinist looking for high-paying assignments across the country? FlexTrades is hiring skilled professionals to support leading manufacturers with precision grinding expertise.

Job Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate precision grinders to produce components with complex features, including curvature, angles, and intricate designs.
• Perform grinding operations on shafts and other parts to ensure adherence to specified tolerances.
• Dress, true up, and sharpen grinding wheels for optimal performance.
• Utilize G&M codes and experience with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, or Siemens control systems.
• Inspect finished parts for quality using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Understand and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles during machining processes.

Requirements:

• Technical Skills:
  • Skilled in precision grinding operations.
  • Familiarity with the impact of speeds and feeds on grinding outcomes.
  • Knowledge of tolerances ranging from .0005 to .003.
• Experience with Controls:
  • Working knowledge of Fanuc, Mitsubishi, or Siemens CNC systems (programming not required).
• Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work 2nd and 3rd shifts, including overtime (50+ hours/week).
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Ability to commit to assignments ranging from 3 months to 1 year.

Pay & Benefits:

• Pay Rate: $45/hour.
• Overtime: Time and a half for all hours worked beyond 40 each week.

  • Paid travel expenses (mileage reimbursement at $0.67/mile).
  • Paid lodging (single-occupancy hotel room).
  • Per diem of $45/day for meals and incidentals.
