Hiring Note: Potential placements in Washington, California, or New Mexico
Job Responsibilities:
- Wire layout and routing: Cut, strip, pin, and terminate wires with precision.
- Soldering experience is a major plus: Ideal candidates will have experience soldering wire to pre-built, prepopulated boards, rather than building PCBs.
- Wire harness building: Assemble wire harnesses at the furniture level, with work on finished harness installation.
- Work with wire sizes between 12-21g and perform light mechanical assembly tasks, including attaching brackets, light boxes, and other small items using basic hand tools.
- Perform tasks in small spaces, sometimes in tight quarters, requiring dexterity and the ability to work without seeing the full layout.
- Understanding bonding and grounding principles and ESD PPE is ideal, as some items require it.
- Reference schematics and 2D drawings to lay out wiring, ensuring proper connections.
- Conduct wire continuity testing, and if capable, assist with functional tests.
- Aerospace experience is a major plus, especially with familiarity in Boeing or Airbus specifications.
Tools and Equipment:
- Use of basic hand tools such as wire cutters, strippers, crimpers, and soldering guns.
- Some work may require climbing 3-4 ladder runs to complete wiring on larger assemblies.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in wiring, terminating, and soldering (soldering to J. Std. 001 standards is a plus, but not required).
- Experience in small-scale wiring is crucial due to the nature of the work.
- Aerospace experience is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working in tight spaces with limited visibility at times.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
- Flexibility to travel and commit to assignments lasting between 3 months to 1 year.
- Willing to work 2nd and 3rd shifts, including overtime (50+ hours/week).
Compensation and Benefits:
- Pay: $30/hour.
- Overtime: Guaranteed overtime paid at time and a half each week.
- Travel Expenses: Paid travel expenses to and from job sites (mileage reimbursed at $0.67/mile).
- Lodging: Paid lodging (Single-occupancy hotel room).
- Per Diem: $45/day.
- Flexibility to take time off between assignments.
